A labor of love
It's hard to imagine that this magnificent property in the countryside just outside Chiusdino was, until recently, little more than a ruin, surrounded by long-abandoned fields.
Born from the dream of owners Jeanette and Claus Thottrup, and brought to life with custom details by local and in-house artisans, it has become one of Tuscany's finest boutique hotels ever.
An obsession for detail
Tuscan stone walls, solid oak beams, crystal drop chandeliers, precious silk and velvets, hand-painted murals and antique writing desks: luxury at Borgo Santo Pietro is all about attention to detail.
Borgo Santo Pietro provides beautiful, bespoke guest accommodation in 22 individually designed bedrooms and suites, including Ultimate Seclusion suites with a private garden or even a private pool.
Each room has its own style, with handmade furniture and precious fabrics, and you can choose between rooms and suites in the villa, suites with a garden and Mediterranean courtyard, and the Ultimate Seclusion suites. Adjoining suites can be connected internally.

Organic vegetables and herbs from the kitchen garden and sun-ripened fruit, picked-to-order from the orchard: the ingredients used to create Borgo Santo Pietro's deliciously simple cuisine couldn't be any fresher.

Breakfast is a treat too: a buffet of seasonal produce with cheese, eggs and fruit from the hotel's organic farm, served in the open-plan Tuscan kitchen on the ground floor.
If, rather than a full-blown feast in the restaurant, all you want is a quick snack or a glass of Tuscan wine, pop into the Trattoria sull'Albero: the rustic treehouse-style restaurant built around a great oak, with modern Tuscan cuisine and a bar serving botanical cocktails.
