Wellness Adler Thermae style: history, spa and 5 star hospitality

Liquid luxury in Val D'Orcia

Just outside the historic spa town of Bagno Vignoni, Adler Thermae Spa e Relax Resort lies in a part of Tuscany famous since ancient times for its thermal waters: mineral rich waters which, over the centuries, have attracted numerous important historical figures to the area, from Lorenzo the Magnificent to Pope Pius II and Saint Catherine of Siena.

In 2004, in recognition of the outstanding beauty of its landscapes, a source of artistic inspiration since the Renaissance, UNESCO granted Val D'Orcia world heritage status. It is here, on a hill overlooking the entire sweep of this valley that Adler Thermae is situated. And it is with this view that the incredible sensation of wellbeing awaiting guests staying at the resort begins.

Double relax: water and steam

Adler Thermae's most precious secret, the thermal waters which originate in the rocks deep below the resort and surface just outside at 36°C, is used to fill Adler's indoor and outdoor pools and fountains.

The resort's Water Park features a sport pool filled with 28°C water and the, aptly named Wild River, which has been designed to simulate the natural flow of a river. For younger guests there is a kids' pool with slide.

In the Sauna World, spa lovers are treated to a Tuscan version of the traditional Finnish suana; happliy sweating away the toxins in a cabin made from olive wood and terracotta. Other spa treats include sessions in the Artemisia herbal caldarium and the steam-filled Etruscan bath

ADLER SPA offers a staggering 120 programs, embracing both oriental and Western spa traditions

The secrets of wine therapy

Why use water when you can use wine?. Famous for its treatments using Bagno Vignoni thermal water, the Resort works wonders with wine too, and has recently been voted Best Wine Spa by the prestigious online guide, Gayot.com.

The hotel has created a series of treatments which exploit the anti-oxidative proprieties of grapes and their seeds, rich in flavondoids and polifenols.

The Baccus' Ritual consists of a bath enriched with Nobile di Montepulciano wine, a grape seed scrub, a regenerating massage, and either an anti-aging Vineyard Massage or a rejuvenating face treatment performed using Sangiovese grapes.

Designed for couples, the Brunello Ritual is a relaxing experience including a bath enriched with Brunello wine, a grape seed oil massage and a tasting of Tuscany's most prestigious tipple.

Sport and gourmet: fun and food which are good for you!

Those wishing to combine a vacation with an evaluation of their general health can request an ADLER MED check up, carried out by an equip of expert doctors specialized in both traditional, homeopathic and ayurvedic medicine.

If you want to work out, you'll be spoilt for choice at Adler, which offers a range of in and outdoor programs supervised by ADLER FIT trainers, and carried out either in the 200sqm fitness center or the large park surrounding the resort.

Enthusiastically embracing the resort's wellness philosophy, Chef Gaetano Vaccaro creates deliciously light Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by traditional Tuscan recipes and prepared using the freshest of locally sourced ingredients.
