Giuseppe Valadier's 18th century masterpiece
Three reasons why you'll love it here
- A holiday of a lifetime staying in a villa built by Valadier
- The art workshops organized by the cultural association
- The gorgeous (and secret!) gardens
A unique combination of the art, culture, and history of Umbria awaits all those coming to stay at Spoleto's "Villa Pianciani".
Wrapped in the silence of its historic park, each and every inch of this magnificent period residence oozes with aristocratic elegance: from the frescoed entrance lobby to the ornately decorated salons, from the library to the neoclassical chapel, from the terrace overlooking Spoleto to the delightful internal courtyards.
Sleeping in the kitchen
Eight bedrooms, with views of the Umbrian countryside, and elegantly furnished with antiques and period artworks, are located on the principal, or 'noble,' floor of the "Casino Principale" (the main house).
Additional accommodation is available in three studio flats, two of which have kitchen and living areas. These are situated in the "Casina delle Vecchie Cucine", building which originally housed the villa's kitchens and main service rooms.
On the opposite side of the park, the old "Casale dei Rombi" (the Diamond house) has been converted into a luxurious country house, complete with private swimming pool and splendid panoramic terrace.
Culture and conferences
Villa Pianciani is the seat of an important cultural association, founded to conserve and promote Umbria's artistic heritage
Part of the old kitchens have been transformed into a educational venue in which residential workshops in photography, oil painting and decoration are held and which, on request, guests staying at the residence are welcome to attend.
The villa also provides an exclusive location for high profile meetings, conferences, gala events and weddings.
Swimming pools and secret gardens
On warm summer days, guests can be found relaxing by the estate's large swimming pool, strolling through Villa Pianciani's historic park to the enchanting "secret garden", or walking amidst the ancient olive trees, the fruit of which is used to make an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
