(Farmhouse Holidays) Ascoli Piceno - Abbazia di Rosara
The simple luxuries of life, in Marche
Three reasons why you'll love it here
- A relaxing vacation in the countryside of Marche
- Organic goodies and vino cotto, from the family farm
- An idyllic location for an Italian country wedding
Once upon a time, as soon as the temperature started to rise, Italy's noble families abandoned their homes in the hot and dusty city and retired to the country, where they would spend the entire summer in elegant residences like Villa Cicchi.
Recently restored, Villa Cicchi has been transformed into a luxury farm stay, in which today's traveler can experience a tantalizing mix of old world charm, contemporary comfort and excellent food and drink... for a fortnight, a week, or just a couple of days.
A trip back in time... to the 1800s
Individually decorated in traditional Italian country style, each of Villa Cicchi's six bedrooms contain beautiful pieces of original 19th century furniture.
Book a junior suite or suite and you'll sleep sweetly beneath ornately frescoed ceilings
Whilst the walls of Villa Cicchi's bedrooms and suites date back to the 1800s, the technology most definitely does not! You can expect to find free Wi-Fi, heating and televisions in whichever room you book.
From the (organic) farm - straight to your plate!
An authentically 'slow' vacation is one spent savoring, at leisure, the natural flavors of the land; relishing the exquisite taste of organic ingredients grown, according to the season.
The dishes served at Villa Cicchi's restaurant are prepared with the fruit and vegetables cultivated on the family estate or on the neighboring farms.
Traditional treats to eat: homemade charcuterie, fried, stuffed olives from Ascoli and organic beef from the Sibillini mountains
To conclude a meal in Marche in style, there can be nothing better than a glass of "vino cotto" wine, bottles of which are left to age for at least eight years in the Villa Cicchi's cellars before being opened.
Take a taste of Marche back home with you
It's easy to get back in touch with nature at Villa Cicchi, whether you choose to while away the day in the garden or participate in one of the courses organized by the farm stay.
There are cooking lessons, ceramic courses, photographic safaris in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno, trekking in the Sibillini Mountains and, for younger guests, fun days on the farm.
During the annual Ascoli Piceno Festival, Villa Cicchi's Salone delle Tempere provides a charming venue for a number of well-attended concerts.
Celebrate your love, at Villa Cicchi
With its extensive gardens and elegant dining rooms, Villa Cicchi is an idyllic location in which to host a dream wedding or important social gathering, whatever the time of year.
Owner and wedding planner, Maria Elena Cicchi, will be pleased to help you organize your event - to perfection.
