The origins

Mandrie di San Paolo dates back to the 11th century, when the Abbey of Saint Benedict decided to build an edifice from where its agricultural territories could be easily controlled.
Over the centuries, the farmhouse has been a refuge for shepherds and even a hospice for prisoners of war, before being transformed into what is now an exclusive country residence and farmstay.

The farmstay

Behind the simple stone façade of the farmhouse, there are family apartments and spacious double bedrooms.
The rooms, with exposed wooden beam ceilings and terracotta floors, are decorated in traditional country style, with rustic, hand crafted furniture. The sensitive introduction of modern technology, including internet connection, ensures maximum comfort.
Apartments have an open-plan, living-cum-dining area with kitchenette and are the perfect choice for a group of friends or for those traveling with children.

The joys of home cooking

A delicious breakfast of freshly baked homemade cakes and bread greets guests each morning.

At Mandrie di San Paolo's traditional Umbrian restaurant, flavor-packed seasonal cuisine is served, either in the dining room by magnificent open fireplace or on the panoramic garden terrace.

The olive harvest

Each autumn, in the last days of October, life at Mandrie di San Paolo's organic farm centers almost exclusively around the harvesting of the estate's olives and their transformation in one of Umbria's most highly prized extra virgin olive oils, events in which guests are more than welcome to participate.

A bit of business and a bit of Jazz

A large meeting room is available for those wishing to hold a business meeting, seminar or conference in a unique and fascinating setting.

In collaboration with Stefano Baroni and Simon Gubbiotti, Mandrie di San Paolo has recently created the Olive Oil Jazz Club, offering a full calendar of concerts, performed by jazz, ethnic, swing, and folk musicians of international fame.
