Miracles happen

It was back in 1198, that spring waters suddenly surfaced in the gardens of Spoleto's convent, straight into the hands of none other than Pope Innocent III. The waters of what became known as "the holy wellspring" were believed to have healing powers and for this reason, it was ordained that pilgrims could freely draw from the well.

In the 19th century, a tannery was erected on the site. When the business was moved out of town, the building was abandoned and left to fall into ruin. Paolo Zuccari purchased the derelict property in 1993 and set about restoring it to its former beauty and radically transforming its interiors.
