The San Clemente Palace is located on Venice's small, 17 acre island of San Clemente, directly across the waters from San Marco and occupying the site of a former Camaldolesi Monastery the origins of which are dated around 1131 when the church of St Clemente was completed.

Throughout the middle ages, San Clemente was used by the Doges of the Venetian Republic as a secluded place where to meet and entertain guests arriving in Venice by sea.

The current owners of the island have transformed the Renaissance style buildings in a luxury 5 star resort complete with 200 guest bedrooms and suites, swimming pool, tennis courts, wellness center, small golf course and conference center.

The attractive light-filled rooms are all pleasingly spacious, boasting fabulous high Venetian ceilings some 4 meters high and decorated with the highest quality furnishings and rich textiles. The marble tiled bathrooms have full sized bathtubs and large separate shower units. The San Clemente Palace hotel has a staggering 89 suites including the spectacular Presidential suite, an immense split level apartment with luxurious living room featuring a welcoming fireplace, an office, dining room, romantic bedroom with exposed wooden beam ceilings, dressing room and large bathroom.

The San Clemente Palace's secluded Beauty & Wellness Club is situated in the gardens in a 1000sq.mt building overlooking the lagoon. The center offers sauna, steam bath, fitness room, massages and a variety of thalassotherapy treatments using products from the French Phytomer range, based on freeze dried algae and seawater.

Guests of the San Clemente Palace may choose to dine in any of the resorts superb eateries among which the Ca'dei Frati restaurant offers a refined gourmet à la carte menu in elegant dining rooms overlooking the lagoon whilst Le Maschere provides a much more informal environment serving local Venetian fare. The main Gli Arrazzi dining hall which in the summer months spills out in to the ancient medieval courtyard is the setting for the hotel's sumptuous breakfast buffet and where gala events are held.

The San Clemente Palace has a number of fully equipped function rooms of various dimensions with an overall capacity for 350 people.
