A family passion

The luxurious waterfront hotel, occupying an18th century palazzo, first opened its doors to guests in 1880. In 1930 the hotel was purchased by Arnaldo Bennati who commissioned the first major restoration project and the addition of the highly decorative Byzantine-Gothic style façade, the wing on the Campo San Moisè, and the seventh floor open air terrace.

Bennati's granddaughter, Francesca Bortolotto Possati, supervized the $38 million, two year long renovation which resulted in today's flawless combination of ultra modern technology and fabulously opulent interiors
