Masseria Astapiana Villa Giusso Historical Residences
Monastery, noble residence, manor house and coastal farming estate, Masseria Astapiana Villa Giusso is a beautifully restored 17th century property immersed in the peaceful countryside of Vico Equense, only minutes away from the sea of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
The interiors of Masseria Astapiana, sensitively adapted to meet the requirements of the modern-day traveler, conserve the atmosphere of the old religious edifice to perfection. The majority of the rooms, furnished with family antiques and magnificent wrought iron beds, have been created in what were originally monks' cells. The generously sized Family Suite Murat is perfect for those holidaying with small children. The two bedroom Annunziata Flat, with fully equipped kitchenette and comfortable living area, is ideal for all those looking for a self catering holiday with a difference.
The Masseria's 17th century majolica tiled kitchen, with original wood burning oven, provides a charming breakfast room, in which guests are treated to a delicious selection of the region's sweet and savory delicacies. On request, the kitchen is used to host traditional evening meals, prepared using the sun-ripened Mediterranean fruit and vegetables grown in the kitchen garden.
A large part of Villa Giusso's farm is used for the cultivation of olives. The historic groves, in which the fruit used to make the 'extra virgin olive oil "Dop penisola Sorrentina"' is grown, have become a major tourist attraction. Both guests and non-residents alike have the opportunity to participate in wine tastings, entertaining cooking courses, and lessons held at the didactic farm, dedicated to the preparation of bread, cheese and, during the month of October, to the olive harvest.
The rooms and grounds of Masseria Astapiana Villa Giusso provide unique locations in which to host a romantic wedding reception, important cultural event, or concert. Seminars, business meetings and conferences for as many as 50 people are held in the old refectory.
Three good reasons
- The emotion of staying in an ancient convent on the Sorrentine Peninsula.
- A day at the didactic farm.
- Tastings of wines produced by the Masseria.
