Bellevue Syrene Sorrento

An intriguing mixture of history and legend envelops the ancient villa and exclusive hotel, Bellevue Syrene. Situated in Sorrento, on the Coast of the Sirens, in an area chosen by Augustus for one of his imperial residences, Hotel Bellevue Syrene has been providing luxurious accommodation to visitors to the town for well over a century. Luigi II of Baviera, Empress Eugenie of France, the poet De Lamartine, Ivan Turgenev, duke Amedeo D'Aosta and the novelist Marguerite Yourcenar, who wrote her Coup de Grâce' whilst sojourning at the hotel, are just some of the illustrious personages to have graced the rooms of the Bellevue Syrene with their presence.

It was at the turn of the century, that William Waldorf Astor commissioned the creation of the Villa Pompeiana, which today houses two magnificent function rooms and a colonnaded terrace, all of which provide ideal venues where to host glamorous wedding receptions, gala dinners, and banquets.

From the large terraces, a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples can be seen. Almost directly beneath the terrace, lies the hotel's private beach, the perfect place where to relax and enjoy the sun and sea of Sorrento. Hotel Bellevue Syrene's spacious bedrooms and suites are characterized by a sophisticated combination of classic and modern styles, home to both antique and contemporary designer furnishings. The finest traditional Neapolitan cuisine is served at the hotel's Il Don Giovanni Restaurant. Guests enjoy typical regional dishes in the light filled conservatory overlooking the sea or, in the winter, in the intimate dining room of the Restaurant Gli Archi. Snack bar and restaurant during the day and cocktail bar with live music in the evening, La Pergola is a well established favorite with hotel guests, as is the wonderfully romantic Il Pino restaurant. Both these restaurants are located on terraces directly above the sea. Each day, an inviting selection of light snacks, fresh fruit, soft drinks, local wine, tea and coffee is offered, free of charge, in the hotel's Club Lounge.
