The history of Castello di Oviglio is a long and fascinating one. The origins of the period residence date back to the 14th century, time when Oviglio served as a small military outpost, half way between Asti and Alessandria.
Period Piedmont
Over the years, the complex developed in to a fortified village, medieval fortress, and noble residence before being purchased in 1823 by Queen Cristina of Savoy.
Hidden behind the ancient perimeter wall and protected by a secular park, Castello di Oviglio appears largely unaltered by the passage of time. The fortified tower, the ornate crenulations, the arches, porticoes, and bifore windows all testify to the edifice's ancient past
Centuries of luxury
Named after the artists and poets originating from Langhe and Monferrato, the period residence's bedrooms contain a marvelous mélange of 19th century antiques and modern furnishings, frescoed ceilings and the latest in contemporary technology.
