Barolo in a cube
Monument to Barolo wine by Ceretto wineries.
Ceretto, ambassadors of the Langhe. Three generations of wine producers who, for more than seventy years, have represented the excellence of Piedmont and Italy in the world. It was Riccardo, who planted the first vines and founded the original nucleus of the company in Alba.
In just over 30 years, his sons Bruno and Marcello, known abroad as the Barolo Brothers, have created a network of small independent estates in the heart of the Langhe, where celebrated wines such as the Barolos of Bricco Rocche, the Barbarescos of Bricco Asili, Blangé Arneis, Moscato of Vignaioli di Santo Stefano, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Langhe Monsordo are produced.
The third generation of the family shares the Ceretto philosophy of "wine as culture", so much so that their name has been linked to a number of cultural institutions such as the Premio Langhe Ceretto book prize and the commissioning of works of art including Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett's Chapel in Brunate and the Ceretto Cube, this latter built on the top of the Bricco Rocche hill in Castiglione Falletto. Designed as monument to Barolo wine, the crystal cube has sharp edges and a solid base - just like the wine it celebrates, a wine characterised by its youthful sharpness, robust structure and great endurance. Thanks to the frameless glass walls of the construction, the cube integrates perfectly with the surrounding landscape.
Wine lovers are welcome to visit the Ceretto wineries. By advanced reservation, guided tours and tastings are arranged at the Monsordo Bernardina estate in Alba. Personalised tour and tasting options are also available.
