Situated within the ancient perimeter walls encircling the medieval town of Bevagna, lies the wonderfully romantic historical residence, Orto degli Angeli.

After having supervised the meticulous restoration work carried out on Palazzo Andreozzi and Palazzo Alberti, the buildings' owner, Francesco Antonini dei Conti Angeli Nieri Mongalli, has successfully transformed his sumptuous family home in a quite unique hotel.

Keeping it in the family

Just 14 rooms and apartments are reserved for guests, all individually appointed with exquisite items of antique furniture and adorned with period paintings, some of which have embellished the rooms since 1788, when Francesco's ancestors first came in to possession of the property.

The 300sqm Arcangelo Custode suite, complete with frescoed cupola depicting various musical instruments, is just one of the highlights of this stunning period property

Breakfast with the Pope

A generous buffet of local salami, pecorino cheese, jam tarts, custard-filled brioche, and cornetti greets guests each morning in the family dining room, the walls of which are hung with portraits of the owner's family and his famous ancestors, including a rather stern looking Pope Leone XII.

Theater dinners

The hotel's "Redibis" restaurant occupies a quite amazing location, situated in what was once the ambulatory of the town's Ancient Roman theater, now transformed in stylish eatery in which to enjoy seasonal dishes prepared using the excellent produce for which Italy's Umbria region is renowned.
