Via Veneto: introduction

Via Veneto Hotel

Via Veneto was the symbol of 1960's Rome, place which was to become the icon of the "Dolce Vita" thanks to its numerous bars, restaurants and hotels, celebrated in the world famous film "La Dolce Vita" directed by Federico Fellini.

Via Veneto is further characterised by its ostentatious displays of luxury goods. Close by one finds the Fountain of the Tritons, the Church of St Maria della Concezione, the Church of St Andrea al Quirinale, San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, Palazzo Barberini which houses the National Gallery of Ancient Art, and the Palazzo del Quirinale. In Via Veneto one also finds the American Embassy.
