Being inside the historic town walls of Cortona allows you to take advantage of a breathtaking and unique view of Valdichiana, Mount Amiata, Lake Trasimeno and the surrounding picturesque hills, all from the windows of Villa Marsili.

Already existing at the beginning of the 14th century with a very old church and oratory below, the building was rebuilt and restored in 1786 into an elegant mansion. The hall and bedrooms are beautifully decorated and frescoed, all tastefully and carefully furnished with antique furniture, giving the building the elegant and discreet atmosphere of a city residence with all its comforts, technologies and facilities.

During the summer, guests can have breakfast in the pergola while enjoying the view, and during the cooler months, the court is turned into a refined winter garden for breakfast or tea time.

Villa Marsili is situated in Cortona, splendid town of the Valdichiana; an area which straddles the regions of Tuscany and Umbria. From Villa Marsili the panorama opens out over the mountains of Cetona and Amiata and Lake Trasimeno, the latter just a few minutes away from the hotel. From Villa Marsili, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Chianciano Terme, and Pienza are all within easy driving distance.

Those travelling by car should take the A1 motorway Florence/Rome and exit at Valdichiana from where to proceed on the Superstrada Siena/Perugia in the direction of Perugia until coming to the exit for Cortona. The nearest railway station to the hotel is that of Terentola. The National Airport of Perugia lies at 60kms from the hotel, whilst the Florence International Airport is situated at 120kms from Villa Marsili.
