Villa Cicolina Montepulciano

Villa Cicolina is situated in the Tuscan countryside surrounding the medieval hilltop town of Montepulciano. The original villa was subject to a number of successive alterations and changes of use before becoming the country residence of members of the local aristocracy.

The reception hall, decorated with frescoes, paintings, and family crests displays a number of architectural details which bear witness to the history of Villa Cicolina. Each and every room has been beautifully restored and furnished thus creating an authentic atmosphere of old world charm.

Ancient outbuildings now house the lounge and breakfast room of the hotel. The cellar of Villa Cicolina is well worth a visit, and leads in to a series of tunnels and XII century store rooms which are thought to have even older, Etruscan origins. Here, beneath barrel vaulted ceilings, one can still observe the ancient wine casks in which the prestigious Nobile di Montepulciano wine, symbol of this area of Tuscany and its great wine making tradition, was once stored.

Villa Cicolina is surrounded by gardens featuring vineyards and olive groves amidst which one finds a large swimming pool with hydromassage facility and from where a marvellous panorama of the Tuscan countryside can be enjoyed.
