Casa Lemmi San Quirico d'Orcia - Tuscany

San Quirico d'Orcia is a beautifully conserved hilltop town, situated in the heart of Tuscany's Val d'Orcia. The palazzo now occupied by the Bed & Breakfast Casa Lemmi, is believed to be even older than the Collegiata di San Quirico, the beautiful 11th century Romanesque-Gothic church located directly opposite. Only recently transformed in hotel, for centuries the palazzo played an important role in the history of San Quirico: serving as retreat for the Knights Templar, Imperial residence, hospital, convent and, from the 18th century onwards, as the sumptuous home of one of the region's wealthiest landowners.

Recent subject of an extensive restoration project, which included the discreet integration of the modern technology essential to today's travelers, the interiors of Casa Lemmi contain a winning combination of period charm and contemporary comfort. A stairway, dating back to the Norman period, leads to Casa Lemmi's spacious bedrooms and suites, all of which have been individually decorated and furnished in traditional Tuscan style. A number of rooms have views of the Collegiata di San Quirico while others look out over the Tuscan countryside and Monte Amiata.

Depending on the weather, breakfast is served either in Casa Lemmi's "Sala Normanna" or outdoors, in the Terrazza Verde: a small internal courtyard, brimming with beautiful flowering plants.

Casa Lemmi has created a number of special packages which include both luxurious accommodation and interesting excursions. Guests booking one of Casa Lemmi's suites are given free car hire for the duration of their stay, allowing them the freedom to explore Tuscany's Val d'Orcia at leisure.
