Lombardy Monza

Monza is the chief town of the Brianza district, and an important industrial and residential centre with a population of approximately 121.000 inhabitants. In 1922, the National Motordrome was built in the parkland close to the town, a racetrack which was to make the name Monza famous throughout the world.
The racetrack constitutes a from of pagan temple for the enthusiasts of motorcars and motorbikes. Theatre of legendary feats, the Motordrome is the jewel in the crown of sporting Monza.
Equipped with state of the art technology, it is one of the world's most taxing circuits for racing drivers, and a great number of spectators are always present at the various events. The elliptical formed Monza motordrome, comprises the racing track for the Grand Prix, junior and hide speed tracks.
To visit at Monza: the cathedral and museum, with marble facade originating from the ancient oraculum dedicated to San Giovanni Battista by Queen Teodelinda; the Church of Santa Maria In Strada of the XIV century; the tower of Via Lambro and the historic Railway station of 1884.
