The sweet scents of Sicily

Three reasons why you'll love it here

  1. A rural retreat on the vine-carpeted slopes of Etna
  2. A holiday in an old Sicilian wine press
  3. A glass of Manastra Doc on the terrace

What's in a name? The "palmento" or grape press, is one of the symbols of rural Sicily, and a particularly suitable name for this charming 4 room B&B sat on the vine-carpeted slopes of Mount Etna.

Built in the early 19th century and used as a grape press until only a few years ago, Palmento La Rosa is now a beautiful rural retreat, designed for travelers keen to unwind and relax, in the peaceful Sicilian countryside.

Simply beautiful, totally Sicilian

Solid chestnut floors, massive ceiling beams, and a careful choice of modern furniture and amenities: Palmento La Rosa's bedrooms have everything you need, and nothing you don't.

And the view? Look out of your window to see the fertile hills at the foot of Mount Etna where the grapes used to produce some of Italy's finest wines are grown

The large lounge, dominated by a 10 meter long "torchio", or press beam, is the heart of the B&B, where guests come to have breakfast, read a book selected from the well-stocked library, use the free internet connection, watch the television, or play a game of pool.

Volcanic vineyards

From Palmento La Rosa's vineyard, located some 700m above sea level, tantalizing glimpses of the Costa dei Ciclopi can be seen.
By far the best place in which to enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique rural retreat is the terrace in the hotel's Mediterranean garden, surrounded by a magnificent display of palm and lemon trees, cacti and roses.

Wine lover? Don't even think about leaving Palmento La Rosa without having tasted a glass or two of the delicious Monastra Etna Rosso Doc produced in the B&B's vineyards!
