A villa of unsurpassed beauty in an oasis of peace, only a few minutes from the centre of Florence. The Villa San Michele a Doccia, situated on the hill of Fiesole, is named after the church of St Michael the Archangel.

The original building on this site was a monastery, founded in the early years of the 15th century for the Franciscan monks. The present building, with its façade attributed to Michelangelo and its imposing loggia, dates from 1600 when it was enlarged and completely renovated by Giovanni di Bartolommeo Davanzati.
Over the past decade great care and expertise has been engaged to refurbish the entire Villa in a style that provides a luxurious environment whilst maintaining the beauty and heritage of this magnificent building.

The Villa San Michele has 45 rooms, including 24 suites and junior suites, located in the old monastery building and nestled amid the beautiful gardens, enjoying spectacular views, each with its own unique style and antique furnishings.

From the hotel stunning views across the Arno valley and the Chianti countryside can be admired, as can the unique profile of the city of Florence; dominated by the great dome of its Cathedral.
The historic center of Florence is a mere 15 minute drive away. Florence Airport is situated at just 10kms from Villa San Michele. Firenze, Santa Maria Novella, is the station of arrival for those travelling by train. A complimentary shuttle service is available, connecting the hotel with the historic center and the shopping district surrounding Piazza della Repubblica.
