Farmhouse Ardene is a truly unique place, a romantic rural retreat in which to experience both the heartfelt hospitality and the breathtaking landscapes for which Tuscany is known and loved. This old farmhouse, the origins of which date back to the middle ages, is located just outside Montepulciano, the medieval town where the great Tuscan poet, Poliziano, was born.

A beautifully restored property, which still displays great part of its original architectural features, the Ardene has only recently opened its doors to travelers eager to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the heart of Tuscany. Part of an extensive country estate and working farm, Agriturismo Ardene is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, orchards, and a splendid garden, this latter home to an attractive outdoor swimming pool.

At Agriturismo Ardene, the rooms of the centuries-old farmhouse have been masterly converted in comfortable suites and apartments, all of which individually furnished in traditional Tuscan country fashion. Great part of the furnishings present are antique pieces which have belonged to the property for centuries and were restored during the course of the extensive renovation project. Air conditioning, high speed internet connectivity, and luxurious bathrooms complete with whirlpool bathtubs, are standard features in all rooms. The farmstay provides quality accommodation for up to 14 guests and, on request, is available for single let. The Ardene's large living room, with characteristic open fireplace, is the perfect environment where to spend an evening in the company of family, friends, or other residents.

The Ardene is an authentic "agriturismo", complete with learning farm where guests are taught about the various agricultural activities carried out on the estate. In the orchards, vineyards, and olive groves surrounding the hotel, a great variety of typical Tuscan products are cultivated, many of which are served at breakfast in the form of fresh fruit, jams, home made bread and cakes, and savory delicacies prepared using the farm's superb extra virgin olive oil and seasonal vegetables. On request, Relais Ardene organizes dinners, private parties and even cooking lessons. The Ardene's small, underground "Taverna" houses an excellent selection of Tuscan wines and provides an enchanting venue for tastings of the region's highly prized Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vin Santo.
