Bauer Hotel Venezia

The Bauer Hotel enjoys a marvellous location on Venice's Grand Canal and just a short walk away from St. Mark's square. The luxurious waterfront hotel, occupying an18th century palazzo, first opened its doors to guests in 1880. In 1930 the hotel was purchased by Arnaldo Bennati who commissioned the first major restoration project and the addition of the highly decorative 17th century Byzantine-Gothic style façade, the wing on the Campo San Moisè, and the seventh floor open air terrace.

Some 50 years later, Bennati's granddaughter, Francesca Bortolotto Possati was named Chairwoman of the property and undertook the huge $38 million two year renovation which resulted in today's flawless combination of ultra modern technology and fabulously opulent interiors.

The Bauer Hotel's 97 individually appointed guest bedrooms and suites all offer the utmost in luxury. The Hotel Bauer's De Pisis Restaurant offers guests excellent contemporary cuisine influenced by both international and Mediterranean culinary traditions. From late spring to early autumn, the dining room of the De Pisis Restaurant spills out on to the spacious terrace overlooking the Grand Canal.
