The Kallmünz Restaurant is situated in one of the most attractive parts of Merano, just a few steps away from the Lungopassirio, in the enchanting 16th century setting of the castle which bears the same name.

Following the indications of owner and Chef Luigi Ottaiano, the restaurant has been realised in minimalist, cosmopolitan style, resulting in an ambience in which the décor, lighting, and music perfectly compliment the culinary delights to be experienced here.

Chef Luigi Ottaiano ascertains that cooking is an art which requires intelligence, that the cook's hands are but the faithful tools of his artistic expression. This is the basis of the great Neapolitan chef's personal concept of gastronomic artistry, spontaneously expressed in the realisation of original dishes, the flavour and aromas of which are, quite simply, sublime.

All the food served at Restaurant Kallmünz is prepared on a same-day basis, from the bread to the yogurt, from the breadsticks scented with the oregano of the Amalfi Coast to the diverse types of fresh pasta, the desserts, ice-creams, pralines. Not to be missed: the highly prized fish, some of which marinated and smoked on cherry wood.

Restaurant Kallmünz is a veritable gastronomic paradise, where Ottaiano's creative Italian cuisine is accompanied by a well researched, meticulously composed wine list of some 500 labels, of which 35 are served by the glass, and an excellent selection of spirits, all brilliantly illustrated by sommelier Masashi Yamashita.
