La Taverna del Pavone Monreale

La Taverna del Pavone began with the idea of a creative and farsighted man who, having lived in a very rich cultural and gastronomic setting like the Sicilian one, strongly felt the desire to place his knowledge and experience at the disposal of those who were able to appreciate the love for good cookery. The choice of the name and the place where the "trattoria" is are not accidental; the today's "trattoria" has a long story which dates back to the end of the seventeenth century; in the eighteenth century the "trattoria" was an inn in which light meals for the wayfarers were prepared and in more recent years, at least till the 60s, it was a wine inn. From 1969, when the activity began, la Taverna del Pavone is run by the Pupellas, with the same care and attention which have stimulated its birth, and from the very beginning. The parents before and the sons today, wish to offer to their customers an excellent service and a great care without frills but/and, at the same time, a great professionalism and a warm and cordial welcome. That's why in these years la Taverna del Pavone has become a point of reference and a significant place, not only in Monreale, but also in the whole Sicily, thanks to its presence in the most important tour guides and gastronomic magazines at home and abroad.
