Ambasciata di Capri Restaurants
We colud say that the Tarantino family who on 21 March 2005 inaugurated the restaurant "Ambasciata di Capri" in Rome, resembles one of those coastal paths suspended between the sea and the sky which enchanted summer tourists always follow: they are paths which never lose sight of the incredible cobalt blue of the sea. Mario and Liliana are always aware of that enchanted sea and sky and of the soft and of the fragrant perfumes of the fields and orchards. It is with this image of the sea surrounding their splendid island that Mario and Liliana, assisted by their children Eduardo and Claudia, had the idea of opening a restaurant in the reversed direction to that of Tiberius.
A Capri restaurant in Rome. A restaurant with the same gastronomic tradition that Tarantino family practices in its restaurants La Savardina and Belsito in Capri: from an appetizing meal to a quick working lunch. Ambasciata di Capri is the ideal environment for those who want to have comfort and service but above all the pleasure of eating in a simple and genuine way. For dinner the atmosphere in the restaurant is adapted to the occasion: suffused lights, back-ground music, delightful flavours and perfumes... just like a summer evening in the world's most famous "piazzetta".
However Amabasciata di Capri isn't just a restaurant. Cultural events and exhibitions, book presentations, the work of artisans, painters and photographers find hospitality in the spacious rooms... all have their own stage, but with one common denominator: the representation of the island in all its aspects, even the most unusual. From this "Ambasciata di Capri". Anniversaries and working lunches find their natural habitat in the Ambasciata di Capri. The quietest rooms are organised in order to accomodate association lunches, an important working lunch, or an anniversary among family and friends. In the afternoon parties for children and teenagers can be organised, too.
But Ambasciata di Capri is above all a restaurant of typical caprese cuisine with a few exceptions, in favour of roman and mediterranean tradition. The island cooking is based principally on simple fresh pasta based first courses and on second courses based on fish and vegetables dressed with olive oil. These flavours can be enjoyed in a comfortable and accomodating environment, not small tables right next to each other, but beautifully laid tables with cheerful tablecloths with ample space for every diner and a lot of warm and thoughtful attention from all the staff, watched over by Mario like an ancient Roman emperor proud of his hospitality.
