Piedmont Valle Bronda

Valle Bronda

The Bronda Valley, together with the Po valley and the Infernotto, represents a mixture of past and present, reality and legend. The Po, the longest Italian river, has its source in this area. The crystal clear waters spring from the foot of Monviso.

The Bronda Valley is characterized by cobbled pathways which can be followed on foot, mountain bike or on horseback. Along these ancient routes one finds small stone dwellings. The area maintains fine gastronomic traditions using the best natural ingredients.

The Bronda Valley, with its three districts of Castellar, Pagno and Brondello, just steps away from Saluzzo, between the the Po and Varaita valleys, is considered to be the capital of environmentally friendly agriculture.

Roughly twenty years ago a progressive switch to organic farming began. The Bronda Valley Apples have gained national fame. On the same hillside the production of the Pelaverga wine has recommenced resulting in the D.O.C. Colline Saluzzesi label.
