The Relais San Maurizio, an enchanting residence unique of its kind in Piedmont, overlooks Santo Stefano Belbo in the heart of the Langhe. In this 17th century monastery, restored to splendour, the magical atmosphere of the surroundings is combined with most elegant and qualified art of reception. The buildings are home to the famous restaurant "Guido da Costigliole", owned by the Alciati family.
Restored with maximum respect for the original buildings but with all the best technology to ensure the comfort of the structure, it is, today, a hidden and magic place. The new hotel has rooms and suites, many with a sitting-room and open fireplace, built from the former monks cells and stables. Along the decorated corridors and in the refined public rooms which open in succession around the panoramic park with its ancient trees, through to the winter garden and private church, the residence offers views of rare beauty and elegance.
Since Autumn 2003, it has also hosted the Vinothérapie centre, managed by the well-known company Caudalie of Bordeaux, France. The conference area is ideal for prestigious events. The Relais is an exclusive and reserved area looking out on hillsides carpeted with Muscatel vineyards. The area is rich in literary allusions which recall the Italian writers Cesare Pavese and Beppe Feneglio.

The Relais San Maurizio is at Santo Stefano Belbo, in the heart of the Langhe's area, less than two hours by car from the airports of Milan, Genoa and Turi'. Drive through the hills of Monferrato to S. Stefano Belbo, birthplace of the well-known Italian writer Cesare Pavese. From here, follow a panoramic road for 3 km in the direction of Valdivilla and Mango, arriving at the complex of the old monastery. For those arriving from Alba (about 25 km), the signs to follow are for Neive, Coazzolo and Valdivilla.
By train, the railway station at Asti is about 29 km away. By car, from Turin: Torino-Piacenza motorway, A21 towards Piacenza, exit at Asti Est
