La Cantinella Napoli

La Cantinella is placed on the most famous Italian water-front, on the gulf of Naples, from where you can see the Vesuvius and the coast of Sorrento. For many centuries, the most famous painters have immortalised these places: 300 metres of road on the water-front of the Rosolino family.
In a refined and quiet place Giorgio Rosolino mantains high the name of the town and its traditions. La Cantinella is listed in the main national and international gastronomic guide-books.
During the last years, La Cantinella club and La Cantinella Capri were set up too. Its is not a surprise if in one of these restaurants you meet Pavarotti, Carla Fracci, the painter Botero and the great Italian film director, Michelangelo Antonioni.
Since the beginning, Giorgio aimed at the relaunching of the original cooking, above all of some typical Neapolitan dishes.
Which were no longer cooked because they demanded much time and work: minestra maritata, zuppa di soffritto, legumes with pasta, lasagna, pasta with scorpion fish sauce, cuoccio all'acqua pazza, lobsters and shellfish, a paranza fray, peppers, endives and friarielli, as side dish but you have also to taste tagliatelle santa lucia and tagliolini ai ferri di zucca.
Together with the regional dishes there are also international dishes: from the north sea fish to fois/gras, tournedos, fillet an tagliatelle of Aberdeen beef. You can also taste typical cakes like pastiera, babà and lemon cake accompanied bi famous liquors produced in Sorrento.
