Tuscany on your plate

Tuscany on your plate

Le Coccole dell'Amorosa and the flavors of the lands of Siena.

An enchanting little cluster of buildings constructed between the 14th and 19th centuries, complete with a medieval piazzetta, loggia and chapel, Sinalunga's Locanda dell'Amorosa is located in what, for many, is one of the most beautiful places in the world: the paradisiacal patch of Tuscany nestled between Siena, Arezzo, Pienza and Montepulciano.

Rural romance, country cooking

The same intimate atmosphere found in the bedrooms and suites of this award winning hotel pervades the dining room of its Coccole dell'Amorosa, a romantic country-style restaurant occupying buildings which once served as the hamlet's stables.

This is where Francesco Sabbadini creates his delicious Tuscan cuisine, inspired by both the region's age-old culinary traditions and today's desire for lightness

Straight from the kitchen garden to your plate

The young chef is adamant about the quality and freshness of ingredients, and just as only the finest cuts of Chianina beef and Cinta Senese and Grigio del Casentino pork make their way on to the tables of Amorosa's restaurant, the aromatic herbs and sun-ripened vegetables used in Sabbadini's flavorsome dishes, are required to make the journey from the kitchen garden to the plate in record time.

Ably assisted by top ingredients, such as the white truffles of San Giovanni d'Asso, "Terre di Siena" extra virgin olive oil, and the saffron produced in Val d'Orcia, Sabbadini creates exquisite menus which accurately reflect the changing of the seasons.

Super Tuscans and edible souvenirs

Coccole dell Amorosa's well-researched wine list contains a superb variety of Tuscan wines, including the Locanda's own extremely drinkable "Borgo Amorosa", and a selection of the prestigious labels from other Italian wine producing regions.

Those eager to take more than just the memory of their meal home with them, can purchase any of a delicious range of edible souvenirs in Locanda dell'Amorosa's Osteria Toscana, wine bar and delicatessen.

Among the irresistible gift items, a bottle of Locanda dell'Amorosa's excellent extra virgin olive oil is an all-time favorite

Other gastronomic delights available for both tasting and purchase include an impressive variety of D.O.P. cheeses, including pecorino of Pienza, cold cuts from Trequanda, and a large selection of Tuscany's D.O.C. and I.G.T wines, from the legendary Brunello di Montalcino to the much-loved Chianti Classico.
