Le Logge di Silvignano Historical Residences

Le Logge di Silviganano is one of the finest examples of the medieval architecture of the Contado of Spoleto. Beautifully restored by owners Diana and Alberto Araimo, Le Logge di Silvignano is no conventional hotel, rather a magical place in which ancient history unites with stunning landscapes and a particularly refined form of hospitality.

The origins of Le Logge di Silvignano date back to the 12th century, period in which the village of Silvignano was constructed. In 1480, Spoleto annexed Silvignano to the Poreta Castle; stronghold which, together with the castles of Campello Alto and Acera, served to protect the Contado of Spoleto, which straddles the Via Flaminia and the Valnerina, from attack.

Careful restoration work proceeded the transformation of Le Logge di Silvignano in a number of wonderfully romantic suites. Hand crafted floor tiles, exposed stone walls, antique furniture, precious ceramics and luxurious textiles: every single detail of these spacious apartments recounts the history of the medieval residence. Open fireplaces and panoramic terraces feature in the majority of Junior and Master Suites. Each room is an oasis of peace and harmony, where guests enjoy the highest levels of comfort and the latest in technology, including wireless internet connectivity.

Le Logge di Silvignano's large garden is divided in two zones. In the "antico orto", guests find numerous peaceful corners in which to read a good book or simply relax. In the other part of the garden, century old oak and olive trees, and delicately scented lavender and rose bushes pave the way to the property's panoramic swimming pool, from where to admire magnificent views over the Umbrian countryside. Inside the hotel, there is a small wine cellar stocked with an excellent selection of Italian wines. Le Logge di Silviganano offers bed and breakfast accommodation. A room-only arrangement is available for stays of minimum one week. The entire property is also available for exclusive use.

Le Logge di Silvignano Location

Le Logge di Silvignano rests on the hillside of Spoleto. From its fabulous position between Mount Poreta and the Rocche di Pianciano, the hotel boasts stunning views out over the old Via Flaminia and the Umbra valley on one side, and the Valnerina valley on the other.
The village of Silvignano lies within easy driving distance of a great number of Umbria's most important tourist attractions, including Spoleto, Assisi, Montefalco, Spello, and Bevagna. The cities of Todi, Orvieto and Perugia are only a little further away. This is the land of the ancient Contado of Spoleto, an area scattered with beautifully conserved castles, picturesque medieval villages and fascinating museums, all of which testify to the area's centuries-old history. This is also where a highly prized Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a great number of DOC wines, such as the Trebbiano Spoletino and Sagrantino, are produced.
