La Locanda Radda in Chianti - Tuscany

La Locanda is a charming Tuscan retreat in the heart of Chianti Classico, an elegant country residence in the countryside just outside Radda in Chianti and within walking distance of the pretty medieval hamlet of Volpaia.

Occupying what was once a 16th century farmhouse, today's La Locanda provides a stunning Tuscan retreat in which to experience the authentic atmosphere of one of the region's traditional country homes. Six bedrooms and a suite, all tastefully furnished in Tuscan country style, have been created in the main building. The property's old stables have been successfully converted in lounge, library, and dining room. La Locanda has a capacity for a maximum of 14 guests and, on request, is available for exclusive let.

From the height of its hilltop position, Hotel La Locanda boasts commanding views over the Chianti countryside, and the land where some of Tuscany's finest wines are produced. The surrounding scenery contributes greatly to the appeal of a vacation spent at La Locanda, and can be enjoyed from every corner of the property and, in particular, from the hotel's panoramic swimming pool. When not relaxing by the pool or walking in the countryside in the vicinity of La Locanda, guests might easily be found exploring one of the area's medieval hill towns or the Tuscan art cities of Siena, Florence and Arezzo, all of which are no more than an hour's drive away.

Guests staying at La Locanda and eager to savor some traditional Tuscan home cooking and a glass or two of Chianti wine, can particpate in one of La Locanda's typical dinners (available on a request basis, Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings only). During the warm summer months meals are served 'al fresco' on the hotel's large terrace.
