Eremo Delle Grazie Historical Residences

Encircled by the sacred wood of Monteluco, Eremo delle Grazie is an exclusive historic residence, just outside Spoleto. The origins of the hermitage date back to the 5th century, when Saint Isac chose this site in Umbria as his spiritual refuge, around which an important monastic complex developed.

Today the hermitage has been transformed in hotel, designed for those in search of a truly peaceful and relaxing vacation. Eremo delle Grazie's ten bedrooms have been created in what were once the hermits' cells. An appealing combination of period and contemporary furnishings makes it hard to imagine the austere simplicity which once characterised these rooms. Floors paved in terracotta, exposed wooden beam ceilings, beds in wrought iron, luxurious textiles and beautiful artworks together create a delightfully warm and intimate ambience.

In addition to its quite unique interiors, Eremo delle Grazie also boasts a highly acclaimed restaurant in which to savour the very finest Umbrian cuisine. Meals are served either in the internal dining room or, in the summer season, on the restaurant's panoramic terrace. A small cave, most probably used as a rudimentary shelter by one of the first hermits, now serves as a cellar in which an excellent selection of wines is housed. Eremo delle Grazie provides a superb venue where to host a wedding reception, banquet or gala dinner. The hotel's meeting room is suitable for both business and social events.

Whilst sojourning at Umbria's Eremo delle Grazie, guests have the opportunity to swim in the pool or sun bathe on the hotel's solarium, both of which situated in the gardens and from where glorious views of the surrounding countryside can be admired. Trekking, mountain biking and rafting: these are just some of the many sporting activities available in the vicinity of the Eremo delle Grazie.
