Ausonia & Hungaria Venezia Lido - Venice

The Ausonia & Hungaria is a Grand Hotel located in the "other" Venice, that of the city's Lido. A fine example of Italian Liberty style, Hotel Hungaria (later to become Hotel Hungaria & Ausonia) has, since its construction back in 1905, been considered one of the most exclusive establishments in the whole of Venice.

The façade of the Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria, faced entirely in polychrome majolica, offers a spectacular display of the architectural mastery and the elegant forms associated with Italian Art Nouveau. Recent restoration work has returned both exteriors and interiors of the building to all their original splendour.

The Hotel Ausonia & Hungaria has a total of eighty bedrooms. Rooms on the first three floors are decorated in traditional Venetian fashion. Original furnishings by Eugenio Quarti, maximum exponent of Italian Art Nouveau, take pride of place in a great number of the rooms. The recently renovated bedrooms situated on the top floor of the hotel, from where splendid views out over the lagoon can be seen, are furnished in classic modern style.

The hotel's large, flower-decked terrace provides the decidedly romantic setting for a cocktail, served al fresco. Hotel Ausonia & Hungaria's ''bar is located in a lounge adorned with exquisite frescoes. Similarly elegant surroundings have been chosen for the hotel's new restaurant(soon to open). Breakfast is served in the hotel's light-filled conservatory, overlooking the gardens.

Two function halls, each of which embellished with Italian Liberty style frescoes, form exclusive venues for conferences, corporate events, gala dinners and wedding receptions. The "Sala Quattro Stagioni" has a capacity for as many as 200 guests. The intimate "Sala delle Presentazioni", is the ideal place where to host smaller scale events.
